I Love Lucy's

Well we had a another really good day. We are truly downhill from here. Shannon met some wonderful people and has had a great time getting to know other Chinese adoptive parents. There must be 100 families here just this week alone adopting children of all ages.
We got an email from a family that has almost the identical port wine stain that Madeline has. We are not sure how she found us but God definitely had His hand in this. They have gone through laser treatments and said we could contact them anytime we wanted about questions.
As you can see from the pictures above Madeline is warming up to us nicely. I am sure when we get home she will warm up to the children, but it may take some time.
Lucy's is the place we eat just about every meal except breakfast (Starbucks). She has a very American menu and all the adoptive families flock there.
Tomorrow is Madeline's second birthday so we will try something special. We also have our swearing in ceremony at the US Consulate. I will be visiting a seating factory the first half of the day here in Guangzhou.
Thank you all for your prayers. We are so grateful for our family and friends. God definitely has blessed us. Thank you Joe for being apart of our family. You will definitely bless whoever is lucky enough to hire you in the future.
Hannah, Hayden and Camden we cant say how much we miss you and we will see you very soon.
Love
Jay, Shannon and Madeline

Need some boy time, Jay? After I finally figured out how to upload videos, I realized I had made another one of just the boys... being... boys! (Hannah wasn't home yet so she isn't in the video, sorry.). Lucas hardly ever laughs like this. Hayden & "Candum" (how Lucas says it) bring it out in him. My favorite part of the video is when Camden says he wants a corndog (I am eating one behind the camera) & then he says, "Don't eat the stick" making a "jay-face". The boys had watermelon juice on their chins and were calling it "blood". Apparently Lucas had juice on his finger and proceeded to flash it at the boys telling him that his finger is bleeding. Jo & I have a laugh at the innocent gesture. We stopped the film when Camden said... well... I hesitate to post it, so just watch:

Looking forward to seeing your sweetheart celebrate 2! We are heading up to SCA today to get myself somewhat organized. Only 4 weeks til school starts! Aaah!

I actually pulled out our "America World" paperwork again last night. I have been so inspired. Checked out the Chapman's website as well and am just compelled to keep moving forward in faith. Thank you for your faith, witness, & inspiration. To God be the Glory!...
Great things He has done! So LOVED He the WORLD that HE GAVE us His Son!

Play-Doh does the trick everytime:>) We all are still enjoying the precious expressions on that sweet face of Miss Madeline. Thanks again for taking us on this journey with you. We have Hannah today and she will spend the night tonight. She is outside playing with Kipper the new baby goat. As soon as we got here, she went out to the barn to get him. She says that she wants a goat for herself but she would have to keep him inside because of Max. I thought that would really excite y'all and your new carpet. Goats make great inside pets....right!?!? Anyway, you may want to do a search of her room each day for a smuggled goat. Not sure what she would name him...you just can't beat the name "Lucky Wallet":>) Only 2 more days YOOOUU-WHOOOOO. I have decided that you can't go anywhere for this long or as far again, unless I go. I have been going through some major Shami-withdrawals. Can't wait to see y'all. I am praying for a much smoother trip back home.

Who is God, except You, Lord? And who is a rock, except You, my God? You are my strength and power, and You make my way perfect. 2 Samuel 22:32-33

I will let Hannah post something later on today. She is too busy tending to her herd of animals:>)

Hey you guys-
I just got home from the first night of VBS and caught up on your latest. Hayden announced to me in the hallway, "ONLY 2 MORE DAYS!" I thought that was precious. He and Gage got placed in separate classes this year though, so the brothers were not together this time. Gage lost his first tooth while you were gone, and Brie turned nine. Nine... crap, I'm old. Anyway, I know it's getting tough and I'm sure the days seem long because you miss your babies so badly. I am so encouraged that you had companions there to share time with and experience exactly what you are experiencing. What an awesome thing to know that God is at work and anything is possible. We had a great service Sunday and our church is on the brink of amazing things. My heart is flooded every Sunday as I feel His presence and see people on their knees at the alter, and writing names on the wall. WOW.
We love you and pray for the journey home.

We had another good day with our GRANDkids today. We took all 3 to BOnner Park this morning. They had fun for a while with the usual climbing, sliding, & swinging. Then the boys had to explore. There was a huge hole in a tree that they said was big enough to take a shower in. Then Hayden had to check out the ant colony by throwing a rock in it - just to see how fast the ants would move & then the race was on to see who could run faster up & down the grassy hill. They were ready to go home then, so it was off to Wendy's for more chicken sandwiches!!That really is a great deal. Glad you told us about it before you left. After lunch, Hannah went home with Jill & the girls for the night. After nap, the boys painted bird houses for their art project for the day. I think they enjoyed it. We played with play dough for awhile. Then Poppy came to take them to BIble school for the evening. Daddy & I went for a swim down at the Moore's pool. It was relaxing & refreshing. Tomorrow we take our friend to Atlanta. We may or may not get to go on to Gainesville to see Barb for a short visit. She has been in the hospital & is not feeling well still. They are checking out other options now.

Oh, by the way, I asked Hayden what he was going to do with his new sister & he said he was going to put tatoos on her & kiss her. He & Cam had been putting those stick on ones all over their arms & stomachs, so I guess they thought it would be fun to cover Madeline too. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MADELINE!!! gIVE HER HUGS & KISSES FROM HER BABA & PAWPAW
